FREMONT, Calif., Nov. 1 – Hyve Solutions, a division of SYNNEX Corporation and a leader in purpose-built, datacenter server and storage solutions, launches its own Open Compute Project proof-of-concept lab. As the first OCP Solutions Provider, Hyve Solutions has been a leader in educating and helping its datacenter customers understand and take advantage of the benefits of a more efficient and cost-effective datacenter that this technology provides. Now customers can view and interact with the latest OCP hardware in the Hyve Solutions lab environment.

Hyve Solutions’ new OCP lab was completed in time for its educational symposium last month, where participants learned about the Open Compute Project and how it might help their companies’ datacenters become more efficient and cut costs. Facebook, Rackspace, and Hyve Solutions presented information covering the history, current state, and future of Open Compute Project. Attendees were excited to be able to see and experience current and yet-to-be released OCP solutions in the hands-on lab.

“Our goal in creating our OCP lab is to provide a place where customers can review and interact with these OCP solutions,” said Steve Ichinaga, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Hyve Solutions. “We have the current OCP Rev. 2.0 in our lab and are considering for launch in the future Open Rack along with other new platforms.” The OCP lab is available to test workloads, certify software solutions and run other scenarios that datacenter customers are interested in testing.

Hyve Solutions has been delivering OCP solutions to some of the largest datacenter customers in the world. The new OCP lab makes it possible for customers to learn more about these solutions hands-on and run proof-of-concept scenarios prior to purchasing and installation. Hyve Solutions is committed to OCP and has been diligently promoting the project throughout the community and in the greater enterprise. Earlier this year, Hyve Solutions provided a limited number of no-cost production samples of OCP Rev 2.0 to interested customers.
